Choosing a service

What is the difference between paint protection film and ceramic coating?

They solve different problems, and they work well together.

Paint protection film is a physical barrier — a self-healing urethane layer over the panels most likely to take damage. It stops rock chips, debris and scratches from reaching the paint at all.

Ceramic coating is a chemical bond to the paint. It does not stop a rock chip, but it makes the surface hydrophobic and easier to clean, adds gloss, and protects against UV, salt and contamination. Film for impact, coating for the finish.

Do I need both?

Not necessarily. A common approach is film across the front end where the impacts happen, with a ceramic coating over the whole vehicle including the film. Plenty of customers do one or the other. Use the three questions on the home page or bring the vehicle in and we will tell you what it actually needs.

Which PPF package should I get?

For most daily drivers in Prince George it is Silver: partial hood, partial fenders, mirrors and the front bumper. If you keep vehicles a long time, the full-panel packages (Diamond and Elite) leave no film line to see when you sell. You can also tap the panels on the car and build your own.

Do you offer paint correction on its own?

Yes. Expect two to three days depending on the paint. It is also a required step before any ceramic coating we install — the coating needs corrected paint to bond properly.

Timing and booking

How long will my vehicle be in the shop?

Commuter and Sunshine details are generally same-day; All The Little Details is two days. Paint correction one to three days. Ceramic coating two to three days. PPF packages two days. Full-body film one to two weeks depending on the vehicle. You get a firm timeline when you book.

How do I book?

Online, at any time — pick a package and a real drop-off time. Full-body film, custom coverage and ceramic coating are quoted from the vehicle first; use the form on the PPF or coating page, or call 250-301-5575.

Do you require a deposit?

Not on most work. We only take a deposit on bookings over $2,000, once a date is set, and it comes off the final bill.

Do you take walk-ins?

We are by appointment only, but you are welcome to walk in for a quote any time we are open — Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, at 220 Queensway.

Can I wash the car after film or coating?

Leave film alone for seven days, then hand wash or touchless — never a brush wash. Coatings cure for about a week too; after that, washing is the easy part.

Warranty and standards

What warranty comes with the work?

XPEL Ultimate Plus film carries a 10-year manufacturer warranty; XPEL Fusion Plus coating carries an 8-year warranty with a yearly inspection. Both are backed by XPEL directly — full terms on XPEL’s warranty page.

Are you XPEL certified?

We are an XPEL authorized dealer, and the team completed factory training at XPEL’s headquarters in San Antonio, Texas, for both film and coating. We are fully licensed and insured, so your vehicle is covered while it is with us.

Why does the work have to happen in your shop?

Film and coatings are sensitive to dust, temperature and light. Our shop is heated, dust-controlled and lit with studio lighting, which is what lets us see defects during correction and get a clean install every time.
